Well...as Luke has continued to grow it's meant more alert time. Which also means more time keeping him occupied...which then leads to less time on the computer and fewer blog posts. I guess at some point we'll find some kind of rhythm with this. Anyway, just a couple quick hits and then some more recent pics for y'all.

A few days ago Andrea & I watched Luke's birth video. We tried doing this once before...but it was too soon after the birth. Now the timing was perfect. It was absolutely incredible to see the first few moments of our son's life. I'm soooo glad that we have this video. I got to thinking that a lot of energy & excitement is focused on the birth...and we spend so much time talking about how amazing that process is. But I was reminded as we looked at little 6 week old Luke that should be a continual celebration of life. For each birthday party I go to...I want to be reminded of the moment of Luke's birth and how amazing life really is.

A few days ago Andrea & I ran into someone who has been particularly hurtful to her family. For the first time in what seemed like ages, Andrea had a very nice interaction with this person. As we continued home, we got to talking about how this reminded us to be open to those who have been hurtful in the past. We may dislike them...but they aren't horrible people (at least most of the time). It was also a reminder for me that no matter who we become as we grow up and hopefully mature, we all have the same starting point. There is some commonality and connection that we all have. We all start as small beings looking for love and some kind of secure attachment from our caregivers. I think our ability to love and be compassionate is often related to how connected we feel to another. Now the pics...

Very nice that you have a birth video! I have one of my last 2 births and I watch them often to celebrate their birth and lives! I regret not having videos of the others. Congrats on the birth of your son.
Be blessed,
Mandy (Enns) Thiessen
I love every single picture.
